Drug intelligence / Profile preview
VRON-0100 is a therapeutic cancer vaccine developed by Virion Therapeutics, a spin-out of The Wistar Institute. It is designed for the treatment of HPV-positive cancers. The vaccine incorporates a checkpoint modifier called gD that amplifies and broadens CD8+ T cell responses to disease-specific antigens, improving immunogenicity and efficacy in preclinical models. This checkpoint modification lowers the CD8+ T cell activation threshold, enhancing antiviral and antitumor immune responses compared to vaccines without gD. VRON-0100 is delivered using Virion's proprietary ChiVax™ platform technology.
