VRON-0300

VRON-0300 is a preclinical-stage immunotherapy drug candidate developed by Virion Therapeutics for oncology indications, specifically for the treatment of neoplasms (cancers). It utilizes proprietary genetically encoded checkpoint modifiers (CPMs) to enhance and broaden CD8+ T cell responses. Preclinical data demonstrates complete and highly reproducible tumor clearance in animal models, with protection upon tumor rechallenge months after initial tumor clearance. The therapy markedly increases immunogenicity, showing a 10-fold increase in T cell responses compared to controls. The mechanism involves altering T cell activation to amplify and broaden the patient’s immune response against tumors, potentially generating new immune responses not typically stimulated during chronic disease. IND-enabling activities are underway as of late 2023.
