Overview

VRP-TRP2 is an experimental therapeutic *cancer vaccine* composed of an **alphavirus replicon particle (VRP) vector** engineered to express **tyrosinase-related protein 2 (TRP-2)**, a melanocyte differentiation antigen. It is designed to induce both humoral (antibody) and cellular (T cell) immune responses against TRP-2, targeting it as a tumor-associated antigen in melanoma. Preclinical models show VRP-TRP2 produces potent anti-tumor effects and long-term protection in the B16 melanoma mouse model, mediated through activation of TRP2-specific CD8+ cytotoxic T lymphocytes and anti-TRP2 antibodies. The vaccine may synergize with immune checkpoint modulators, such as anti-CTLA-4 or anti-GITR antibodies, to further boost anti-tumor activity.
