Overview

VRT-106 (also known as M1-c6v1) is a recombinant oncolytic virus derived from the alpha virus family and is under clinical development by Guangzhou Virotech Pharmaceutical. It is being investigated primarily for the treatment of advanced or metastatic solid tumors, including hepatocellular carcinoma, liver cancer, cervical cancer, triple-negative breast cancer, colorectal cancer, prostate cancer, melanoma, pancreatic cancer, and malignant glioma. The drug is administered via intravenous drip or intratumoral injection. Its mechanism involves using an engineered oncolytic virus to selectively infect and destroy tumor cells while sparing normal tissue. As of early 2025, it remains in Phase I clinical trials in China for various solid tumor indications[1][4][5][6][7].
