VRT106 + camrelizumab + apatinib is a combination therapy being investigated for the treatment of advanced hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), particularly in patients who have failed prior immune checkpoint inhibitor (ICI) therapy. VRT106 (also known as M1-c6v1) is an oncolytic alphavirus (M1 virus) developed by Guangzhou Virotech Pharmaceutical that selectively replicates in and kills zinc-finger antiviral protein (ZAP)-deficient cancer cells. Camrelizumab is a humanized monoclonal antibody targeting the programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1) receptor, while apatinib is a small-molecule tyrosine kinase inhibitor that selectively inhibits vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 2 (VEGFR-2). The combination aims to leverage the direct oncolytic effect and immune-priming of VRT106 alongside the checkpoint blockade of camrelizumab and the anti-angiogenic properties of apatinib to overcome resistance in HCC.
