VS-110

VS-110 is a potent, small-molecule vitamin D receptor (VDR) agonist being developed by Vidasym for the treatment of chronic kidney disease (CKD) and associated complications such as secondary hyperparathyroidism. By selectively activating the VDR ligand-binding domain with high potency (EC50 <0.1 nM), VS-110 suppresses the production of parathyroid hormone (PTH). Preclinical data in uremic rat models indicate a wide therapeutic index (>50-fold), where the drug effectively reduces PTH levels without causing hypercalcemia, a common side effect of traditional vitamin D analogs. Furthermore, VS-110 has demonstrated cardioprotective effects in preclinical research, including the reduction of left ventricular fibrosis and improvement of endothelium-dependent aortic relaxation. It is part of a pipeline of VDR modulators that includes VS-105.
