VSJ-110

VSJ-110 is a small molecule drug under development by Vanda Pharmaceuticals for the treatment of keratoconjunctivitis sicca (dry eye) and allergic conjunctivitis. It acts as a potent activator of the cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator (CFTR), stimulating chloride secretion from the apical membrane in ocular tissues. This prosecretory effect increases tear production and has been shown to reverse epithelial damage in preclinical models. In addition to its prosecretory action, VSJ-110 exhibits anti-inflammatory properties demonstrated in both in vitro and in vivo assays. The drug is formulated as an ophthalmic solution and is currently being evaluated in Phase II clinical trials for dry eye disease, with prior development efforts also targeting allergic conjunctivitis[1][2][3][4][5][6][7].
