The VSV-HTLV-1 vaccine is a recombinant viral vaccine and immunotherapeutic developed by StingInn to prevent and treat Human T-cell Lymphotropic Virus type 1 (HTLV-1) infections and associated diseases. Utilizing a vesicular stomatitis virus (VSV) vector platform, the vaccine construct (VSV-gp62-ΔHT) expresses the HTLV-1 envelope glycoprotein (gp62) along with the regulatory proteins TAX and HBZ. This design aims to stimulate a robust immune response, including the production of neutralizing antibodies and the activation of cytotoxic T cells. The vaccine is being developed for indications such as Adult T-cell leukemia/lymphoma (ATLL) and HTLV-1-associated myelopathy/tropical spastic paraparesis (HAM/TSP). StingInn has received STTR funding from NIAID and NCI to manufacture the vaccine for Phase I clinical trials.
