Drug intelligence / Profile preview
VT-5006 is a first-in-class, gut-selective small molecule designed to delay the onset, slow the progression, and preserve the quality of life for patients with Parkinson's disease. It targets a validated peripheral driver of the disease, specifically focusing on the gastrointestinal tract to address protein aggregation and inflammation implicated in Parkinson's disease. VT-5006 is being developed by Vertero Therapeutics, formerly known as Axial Therapeutics, as part of their approach to treating neurodegenerative diseases by targeting peripheral drivers beyond the brain.
