Overview

VT-EBV-N is an investigational immunotherapy developed by ViGenCell for the treatment of Epstein-Barr Virus (EBV)-positive extranodal NK/T cell lymphoma, a rare and aggressive form of blood cancer. The therapy consists of autologous EBV-specific cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTLs), designed to target and eliminate EBV-infected malignant cells. VT-EBV-N has been designated as an orphan drug in Europe and is currently in phase 2 clinical trials, with promising early results showing high overall survival and progression-free survival rates in patients with relapsed or refractory disease[1][2][3]. The primary mechanism involves adoptive transfer of T lymphocytes that specifically recognize EBV antigens presented on tumor cells, thereby enhancing immune-mediated clearance.
