Drug intelligence / Profile preview
VT-Tri(1)-A is a recombinant protein-based vaccine candidate developed by VaxThera for the prevention of COVID-19. It is designed as a "triple-antigen" vaccine, incorporating multiple components of the SARS-CoV-2 virus to elicit a broad immune response. The vaccine is produced using a recombinant protein platform, which is intended to be scalable and stable for distribution in regions like Latin America. VaxThera, a Colombian biotechnology company backed by Seguros Sura, initiated clinical development to provide regional vaccine manufacturing autonomy. The vaccine is administered via intramuscular injection and has been evaluated in Phase 1/2 clinical trials in Colombia.
