Drug intelligence / Profile preview
VT021, also known as PM021, is a botanical functional material developed by VT Bio as a health functional food for the regulation of blood glucose levels in patients with diabetes. It was granted individual approval as a health functional food by the South Korean Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) in 2010 (authorization number 2010-33). The product is derived from botanical sources and is designed to assist in blood sugar management as part of a dietary regimen. Unlike VT Bio's botanical medicines, VT021 is specifically categorized and marketed as a nutraceutical or health functional food rather than a pharmaceutical drug.
