VTA-110 is a preclinical, first-in-class allogeneic induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC)-based regenerative cell therapy being developed by Vita Therapeutics for Duchenne muscular dystrophy and other muscular dystrophies.[2][7][9] The product comprises engineered iPSC-derived myogenic cells intended to replace defective muscle cells, repair damaged tissue, and regenerate healthy skeletal muscle, thereby addressing the underlying loss of functional dystrophin-expressing fibers rather than providing only symptomatic benefit.[2][5][7] The program originated from technology invented at Johns Hopkins University and the Kennedy Krieger Institute, and VTA-110 has received U.S. FDA orphan drug designation for the treatment of Duchenne muscular dystrophy.[2][5][7][15]
