Overview

VTP-1100 is an investigational cancer immunotherapy developed by Barinthus Biotherapeutics (formerly Vaccitech) for the treatment of Human Papillomavirus (HPV)-associated cancers, including head and neck squamous cell carcinoma. The candidate utilizes the SNAPvax platform, a self-assembling nanoparticle technology acquired from Avidea Technologies, which is designed to co-deliver antigens and adjuvants to the lymph nodes to elicit a robust and synchronized CD8+ T cell response. VTP-1100 specifically targets the E6 and E7 oncoproteins of HPV16, which are constitutively expressed in HPV-driven malignancies. It is currently being evaluated in clinical trials to assess its safety and immunogenicity, both as a monotherapy and in combination with checkpoint inhibitors.
