Drug intelligence / Profile preview
VTx-101 (Veiled Uricase) is a polymer-conjugated recombinant uricase (urate oxidase) enzyme being developed by Veil Therapeutics for the treatment of chronic gout (including chronic refractory gout). The therapeutic utilizes the company's proprietary Veil Platform (PEGNEXT technology), which rearranges PEG-based polymers into small, discrete units with high-density, short side chains that adopt a bottlebrush structure. This polymer shield reduces the immunogenicity of the uricase enzyme, extending its half-life and stability while evading immune recognition. VTx-101 is currently in preclinical development.
