Overview

VV-969 is a small-molecule ferroptosis inhibitor being developed as a disease-modifying therapy for age-related diseases, with an initial focus on sarcopenia. Originally developed by Collaborative Medicinal Development (which rebranded as Vivat Therapeutics), the compound is designed to inhibit ferroptosis, a form of regulated cell death driven by iron-dependent lipid peroxidation. Preclinical development is ongoing to evaluate its potential in treating muscle loss and other age-related degenerative conditions.
