Drug intelligence / Profile preview
VV147 is an oral, small molecule, multi-target rapid-acting antidepressant candidate that regulates the glutamatergic and monoaminergic systems. Co-developed by Vigonvita Life Sciences and the Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica, Chinese Academy of Sciences, VV147 targets N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptors and monoamine transporters. Preclinical studies have demonstrated that a single oral dose of VV147 exhibits significant antidepressant-like efficacy within 24 hours in chronic unpredictable mild stress and chronic social defeat stress models, without showing addictive-like or hallucinogenic-like effects. It is currently in Phase I clinical development in China for the treatment of depressive disorder, aiming to provide rapid therapeutic onset while avoiding the dissociative and addictive side effects associated with ketamine.
