Drug intelligence / Profile preview
VVD-101 is an investigational fixed-dose oral capsule combining **sumatriptan succinate 12.5 mg** and **acetylsalicylic acid 325 mg**. It was developed by Vivid Pharma for acute treatment of delayed alcohol-induced headache. Sumatriptan is a serotonin 5-HT1B/1D receptor agonist, while aspirin inhibits cyclooxygenase enzymes to reduce prostaglandin-mediated pain and inflammation. A completed Phase 2 pilot trial evaluated VVD-101 against placebo in adults with delayed alcohol-induced headaches. ([clinicaltrials.gov](https://clinicaltrials.gov/study/NCT02176655))
