Overview

VX-135 is a uridine nucleotide analogue pro-drug designed to inhibit the replication of the hepatitis C virus by acting on the NS5B polymerase. It was originally developed by Alios BioPharma and later advanced by Vertex Pharmaceuticals. The drug showed promising antiviral activity in early studies, with a 200mg once-daily dose reducing viral load by a median 4.5 log in treatment-naive patients with HCV genotype 1.
