Overview

VXA-101 is a trispecific T-cell engager (TCE) developed by VERAXA Biotech for the treatment of multiple myeloma. Engineered using the company's proprietary BiTAC (Bispecific T-cell Activating) platform, the molecule is designed to simultaneously target two tumor-associated antigens, CD38 and SLAMF7 (also known as CS1), while engaging the CD3 receptor on T cells. This dual-targeting approach aims to enhance the specificity of the drug for myeloma cells, potentially reducing off-target effects and overcoming resistance mechanisms such as antigen escape. By facilitating the formation of an immunological synapse between T cells and malignant cells, VXA-101 induces potent T-cell mediated cytotoxicity. The program is currently in the preclinical stage of development.
