Drug intelligence / Profile preview
VXA-901 is a monoclonal antibody targeting Fms-like tyrosine kinase 3 (FLT3), currently under development by VERAXA Biotech for the treatment of acute myeloid leukemia (AML). FLT3 is a receptor tyrosine kinase that plays a pivotal role in the proliferation, survival, and differentiation of hematopoietic progenitor cells. In AML, FLT3 is often overexpressed or subject to activating mutations (such as internal tandem duplications, FLT3-ITD), which drive the aggressive growth of leukemic blasts. VXA-901 is designed to bind specifically to the FLT3 receptor to block its activation and downstream signaling pathways, potentially offering a targeted therapeutic approach for patients with FLT3-positive leukemia. The drug is currently in Phase 1 clinical development.
