**VXA-NVV-108** is Vaxart's investigational oral bivalent norovirus vaccine candidate evaluated in a Phase 1 study in healthy lactating adults and their breast-feeding infants. The enteric-coated tablet vaccine uses Vaxart's nonreplicating adenoviral-vector platform to express the major capsid protein VP1 from norovirus genogroups GI.1 and GII.4, with the aim of inducing systemic and mucosal immune responses and increasing norovirus-specific antibodies in maternal breast milk for potential passive protection of infants. The completed study was a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, single-dose, dose-ranging trial; Vaxart reported positive topline immunogenicity results and no vaccine-related serious adverse events.
