Overview

VXB-213 is a monovalent protein subunit vaccine candidate developed by Vicebio for the prevention of respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) infection. The vaccine utilizes proprietary Molecular Clamp technology, which is designed to lock viral fusion proteins into their native, pre-fusion trimeric conformation. This stabilization is critical for exposing key epitopes that elicit high titers of neutralizing antibodies. VXB-213 is being evaluated in clinical trials both as a standalone monovalent vaccine and as a comparator component for multivalent candidates, including the bivalent VXB-241 (RSV/hMPV) and the trivalent VXB-251 (RSV/hMPV/PIV3). It is administered via intramuscular injection and is primarily targeted at older adults.
