Overview

VXB-251 is a trivalent viral vaccine candidate developed by Vicebio for the prevention of respiratory infections caused by respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), human metapneumovirus (hMPV), and parainfluenza virus type 3 (PIV3). It utilizes Vicebio’s proprietary Molecular Clamp technology, which stabilizes viral glycoproteins in their highly immunogenic prefusion conformation to elicit strong protective immune responses. The goal is to provide robust immunity against multiple major respiratory pathogens in a single formulation, addressing significant unmet needs particularly among elderly and immunocompromised populations. As of October 2024, VXB-251 remains in preclinical development[1][2][5][6][7].
