Overview
VYC-12, marketed under the brand name Juvéderm Volite, is an injectable dermal filler developed by Allergan (now part of AbbVie) using the proprietary Vycross technology platform. It consists of a crosslinked hyaluronic acid (HA) gel that combines low and high molecular weight HA to achieve a high degree of crosslinking and cohesivity. Unlike traditional fillers designed for deep tissue volumization, VYC-12 is specifically intended for intradermal injection to improve skin quality by addressing superficial fine lines and enhancing hydration and elasticity. It acts within the extracellular matrix to bind water and provide structural support, with clinical effects lasting up to nine months for hydration and six months for skin smoothness.
