Drug intelligence / Profile preview
VYR-2020 is a preclinical antiviral small molecule developed by Vyripharm Biopharmaceuticals for the treatment and diagnosis of viral infections, specifically targeting coronaviruses such as SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19), SARS-CoV, and MERS-CoV. It is designed as part of a multi-component theranostic platform that integrates nuclear medicine imaging with antiviral therapy. The platform often utilizes VYR-2020 in conjunction with a CB1 antagonist (such as VYR-206 or a related analogue) to monitor disease progression and therapeutic efficacy through a radiotherapeutic regimen. Vyripharm partnered with Regis Technologies for cGMP manufacturing to facilitate the transition from preclinical studies to first-in-human clinical trials.
