Overview

W922 is a novel small molecule inhibitor of the PI3K/Akt/mTOR signaling pathway. It has demonstrated potent anti-tumor activity in various human cancer cell lines, including colorectal (HCT116), breast (MCF-7), and lung (A549) cancers. In preclinical studies, W922 has been shown to inhibit cell proliferation, induce G0-G1 phase cell cycle arrest, and trigger autophagy by dephosphorylating key proteins in the PI3K/Akt/mTOR axis. Research indicates that combining W922 with autophagy inhibitors like chloroquine can enhance its pro-apoptotic effects, suggesting a potential therapeutic strategy for colorectal cancer.
