Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Wai Gan Qing Re Jie Du Decoction is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbal formulation developed by the Shanghai Municipal Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It is primarily investigated as an adjunctive therapy for sepsis-induced acute lung injury (ALI). The decoction is designed to clear heat and detoxify (Qing Re Jie Du), targeting the systemic inflammatory response and blood-gas barrier injury associated with sepsis. Clinical evaluation focuses on its ability to improve respiratory function and modulate biomarkers of lung injury, such as the Receptor for Advanced Glycation End-products (RAGE), Krebs von den Lungen-6 (KL-6), and Surfactant Protein D (SP-D).
