Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Wakamoto Intestinal Regulators (also known as Wakamoto Intestinal Remedy) is a designated quasi-drug probiotic formulation developed by Wakamoto Pharmaceutical. It is designed to regulate the digestive system and improve intestinal health. The formulation contains three types of live lactic acid bacteria: two strains of bifidobacteria (*Bifidobacterium longum* and *Bifidobacterium bifidum*) that primarily act in the large intestine, and *Lactobacillus gasseri* (formerly classified as *Lactobacillus acidophilus*) which works mainly in the small intestine. Together, these beneficial bacteria inhibit the proliferation of harmful intestinal flora, balance the gut microbiome, and alleviate gastrointestinal symptoms such as constipation, loose stools, and abdominal bloating.
