Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Wall-broken Ganoderma lucidum spore powder (BGLSP) is a processed herbal preparation derived from the spores of the *Ganoderma lucidum* fungus, commonly known as Reishi or Lingzhi. The "wall-breaking" process involves rupturing the resilient chitinous outer shell (sporoderm) of the spores to enhance the release and bioavailability of internal bioactive constituents, including triterpenoids and polysaccharides. BGLSP is widely utilized in traditional Chinese medicine and as a nutraceutical for its purported anti-inflammatory, immunomodulatory, and anti-tumor properties. Recent research highlights its potential in promoting oral ulcer healing through the synergistic effects of ganoderic acids A and G, as well as its ability to inhibit papillary thyroid cancer progression by inducing apoptosis via caspase activation and suppressing the epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) pathway.
