Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Walnut extract is a natural agent derived from plant foods, categorized as a nutraceutical. It has been investigated for its therapeutic potential in various conditions. As an ingredient in Lazolex® Gel, it has been studied for its efficacy as an emollient gel in the treatment of mucocutaneous herpes simplex infections. Additionally, walnut extract has demonstrated renoprotective effects in preclinical models of chronic renal failure, where it improved renal function, oxidative stress, antioxidant, and inflammatory biomarkers. Liquisolid technology has been explored to enhance its solubility and absorption for improved renoprotective efficacy.
