Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Wandaitang (also romanized as Wan Dai Tang, meaning 'End Discharge Decoction') is a classical traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) herbal formula first recorded in the Qing dynasty text *Fu Qingzhu's Obstetrics and Gynecology* (*Fu Qing Zhu Nu Ke*). It is traditionally indicated for leukorrhea (abnormal vaginal discharge) arising from Spleen Qi deficiency with damp accumulation and Liver Qi stagnation. The formula typically comprises ten herbs: Bai Zhu (Atractylodes macrocephala), Shan Yao (Dioscorea opposita), Ren Shen (Ginseng), Cang Zhu (Atractylodes lancea), Bai Shao (Paeonia lactiflora), Che Qian Zi (Plantago seed), Chen Pi (Citrus reticulata), Chai Hu (Bupleurum), Jing Jie (Schizonepeta), and Gan Cao (Glycyrrhiza uralensis). In modern clinical practice, Wandaitang is utilized to treat gynecological conditions such as vaginitis, cervicitis, and pelvic inflammatory disease, as well as other chronic inflammatory and renal disorders.
