Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Wangbi Capsules (Wangbi Jiaonang) is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formulation widely used in China for the treatment of various arthritic conditions, including rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, and Kashin-Beck disease. The capsule is composed of 17 herbal ingredients, such as *Rehmannia glutinosa*, *Dipsacus asper*, *Epimedium brevicornu*, and *Aconitum carmichaelii*, which are traditionally believed to tonify the liver and kidneys and dispel wind-dampness. Pharmacologically, the drug exhibits anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties, helping to reduce joint pain, swelling, and stiffness while potentially slowing the progression of joint damage. It is currently being evaluated in clinical trials for its efficacy in managing symptoms of Kashin-Beck disease, a chronic osteoarthropathy endemic to certain regions of China.
