Overview
Wangbi Formula (also known as Wangbi Tablets, Wangbi Capsule, or Wangbi Granules) is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) preparation developed and manufactured by Liaoning Good Nurse Pharmaceutical (Group) Co., Ltd. (a subsidiary of Shanghai Pharmaceuticals). It is formulated from a mixture of multiple herbal ingredients, including Rehmannia Root (Dihuang), Common Anemarrhena Rhizome (Zhimu), Epimedium Herb (Yingyanghuo), Himalayan Teasel Root (Xuduan), Malaytea Scurfpea Fruit (Buguzhi), East Asian Tree Fern Rhizome (Gouji), Common Clubmoss Herb (Shenjincao), Safflower (Honghua), White Peony Root (Baishao), Cassia Twig (Guizhi), Doubleteeth Pubescent Angelica Root (Duhuo), Divaricate Saposhnikovia Root (Fangfeng), and Clematis Root (Weilingxian). Wangbi Formula is approved in China for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis and knee osteoarthritis. It exerts anti-inflammatory, immunomodulatory, and chondroprotective effects by suppressing inflammatory pathways such as the NF-κB and p38-MAPK signaling pathways, and inhibiting the AIM2-Caspase-1-GSDMD pyroptosis axis.
