Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Wanhua Qianggu Plaster is a topical Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formulation developed by Tonghua Wantong Pharmaceutical for the treatment of frozen shoulder (scapulohumeral periarthritis). It is specifically indicated for patients presenting with the TCM syndrome of wind-cold-dampness obstruction, which is characterized by joint pain, stiffness, and restricted movement. The plaster is applied topically to the affected shoulder area to promote blood circulation, resolve blood stasis, and provide analgesic effects. In clinical development, it has been evaluated in Phase 3 trials in China, where its efficacy and safety were compared against oral Wanhua Qianggu Tablets in adults with painful frozen shoulder.
