Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Wantong Jinggu Babao plaster is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) topical formulation developed by Tonghua Wantong Pharmaceutical. It is specifically designed for the treatment of pain-predominant shoulder periarthritis (adhesive capsulitis), particularly for patients presenting with the TCM pattern of wind-cold obstructing collaterals. The plaster is a multi-ingredient herbal product intended to alleviate pain and improve joint mobility by expelling wind, dissipating cold, and unblocking the collaterals. It is currently being evaluated in a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled Phase 3 clinical trial in China to assess its efficacy and safety in this patient population.
