WASF3 siRNA is a small interfering RNA designed to silence the expression of the Wiskott-Aldrich syndrome protein family member 3 (WASF3) gene. WASF3 is a critical regulator of the JAK-STAT signaling pathway and cytoskeletal scaffolding, which are essential for cell motility and tumor cell invasion. In glioblastoma (GBM), WASF3 has been identified as a downstream mediator of the long non-coding RNA LINC03045. Research conducted at the Keck School of Medicine of USC has shown that siRNA-mediated knockdown of WASF3 significantly reduces the invasive capacity of various glioma cell lines, including U87, U251, and patient-derived USC02 cells, in both 2D and 3D assays. This suggests that targeting the WASF3 pathway could be a potential therapeutic strategy to combat the aggressive infiltration and recurrence of glioblastoma.
