Waxrim

Waxrim is a topical otic formulation developed and marketed by Chethana Pharmaceuticals, primarily indicated for the softening and removal of dry or hardened ear wax (cerumen). The active ingredient is dioctyl sodium sulfosuccinate (also known as docusate sodium) at a concentration of 0.5% w/v. As a surfactant, it functions as a cerumenolytic by reducing the surface tension at the wax-water interface, which allows moisture to penetrate and soften the impacted wax. This action facilitates the natural migration of wax out of the ear canal or simplifies clinical removal procedures. The product is formulated as ear drops for external use and contains methylparaben as a preservative.
