Drug intelligence / Profile preview
WBC-AMD-01 is an investigational therapeutic candidate developed by Wincal Biopharm for the treatment of age-related macular degeneration (AMD). It is designed to inhibit pathological angiogenesis through a dual-action mechanism targeting both Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor (VEGF) and Frizzled (FZD) receptors. By simultaneously blocking the VEGF pathway and the Wnt/Frizzled signaling pathway, WBC-AMD-01 aims to provide enhanced efficacy and improved vascular stability compared to existing anti-VEGF monotherapies. The program is currently in the IND-enabling stage, progressing toward clinical trials for ophthalmic vascular diseases.
