WBC-DME-01 is a preclinical-stage multi-specific biologic candidate developed by Wincal Biopharm for the treatment of diabetic macular edema (DME). The drug is designed to target multiple molecular pathways involved in retinal vascular disease, identified in company materials by the designation "Tropvtk (TPA)". This multi-target approach, likely representing a tri-specific mechanism targeting vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), angiopoietin-2 (Ang-2), and the Tie-2 receptor pathway, is intended to provide enhanced efficacy and durability compared to standard-of-care mono-specific anti-VEGF injections.
