WBMP-1

WBMP-1 is a first-in-class monoclonal antibody developed by Welt Bio-Molecular Pharmaceutical, currently in preclinical development for the treatment of B-cell malignancies, including Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma (NHL) and Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL). The antibody specifically targets critical epitopes on the membrane IgM (mIgM) component of the B-cell Receptor Complex (BCRC). By binding to mIgM, which is expressed on the surface of malignant B cells, WBMP-1 is designed to induce anti-tumor effects. While its sister compound WBMP-4 is the lead candidate in this series and has demonstrated receptor internalization, growth inhibition, and apoptosis in human lymphoma and leukemia cell lines, WBMP-1 belongs to the same therapeutic class of BCRC-targeting antibodies.
