WBMP-2 is a preclinical-stage monoclonal antibody developed by Welt Bio-Molecular Pharmaceutical that targets the membrane-bound immunoglobulin M (mIgM) component of the B-cell Receptor Complex (BCRC). It is being developed for the treatment of B-cell malignancies, including Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma (NHL) and Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL). WBMP-2 works by binding to specific epitopes on the mIgM-BCRC, which disrupts downstream signaling pathways, inhibits cell growth, and induces apoptosis in malignant B-cells. As a first-in-class therapeutic candidate, it is designed to offer more tumor-specific targeting compared to existing pan-B-cell therapies, potentially minimizing off-target effects on healthy B-cells.
