Drug intelligence / Profile preview
WBMP-3 is a first-in-class monoclonal antibody developed by Welt Bio-Molecular Pharmaceutical, currently in preclinical development for the treatment of B-cell malignancies, including Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma (NHL) and Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL). It specifically targets critical epitopes on the membrane IgM (mIgM) component of the B-cell Receptor Complex (BCRC). The mechanism of action involves binding to mIgM on malignant B cells, which triggers receptor internalization, inhibits cell growth, and induces apoptosis. WBMP-3 is part of a pipeline of antibodies (WBMP-1 through WBMP-4) aimed at hematological cancers, with WBMP-4 currently identified as the lead product in the series.
