WC44

WC44 is a synthetic small molecule classified as a dopamine receptor ligand. It acts primarily as a full agonist at the dopamine D3 receptor and as a partial agonist at the dopamine D2 receptor. WC44 demonstrates 23-fold selectivity for the D3 receptor over the D2 receptor. Initial assay data suggested agonist properties at D3, but subsequent neuropharmacological studies indicated it may also act as a functional D3 antagonist in certain behavioral contexts. WC44 was developed and characterized in preclinical research to understand the role of dopamine receptor signaling in movement disorders and antipsychotic drug development.
