WCK 6777 is a novel antibiotic combination comprising ertapenem and zidebactam in equal amounts. It is being developed by Wockhardt as a once-a-day β-lactam enhancer. It has received Fast Track designation from the US FDA for treating complicated urinary tract infections (cUTI), including pyelonephritis, and complicated intra-abdominal infections (cIAI). WCK 6777 is effective against multi-drug-resistant (MDR) Gram-negative pathogens in both community and hospital settings.
