WD-34 is an experimental therapeutic candidate being developed by AdAlta for the treatment and prevention of malaria. The drug is engineered using AdAlta's proprietary i-body platform, which utilizes small, highly stable human protein scaffolds that mimic the unique binding characteristics of shark single-domain antibodies. These i-bodies are designed to bind with high affinity and specificity to cryptic or recessed epitopes on the surface of the malaria parasite (*Plasmodium falciparum*) that are typically difficult for traditional monoclonal antibodies to access. The WD-34 program is currently in the early discovery or pre-clinical stage, with the primary goal of blocking the parasite's ability to invade human red blood cells.
