Weichangning

Weichangning (胃肠宁) is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) product used for various gastrointestinal ailments. The name "Weichangning" is applied to different formulations, including tablets (胃肠宁片) and granules (胃肠宁颗粒), which can have distinct sets of herbal ingredients and therapeutic focuses. Some formulations, such as certain Weichangning tablets, are composed of herbs like Bu Zha Ye, La Liao, Fan Shi Liu Ye, Huo Tan Mu, and Gong Lao Mu, and are indicated for clearing heat and dampness, strengthening the stomach, and stopping diarrhea, particularly for general diarrhea and pediatric indigestion. Other formulations, like Weichangning granules or certain Weichangning tablets, may contain ingredients such as Dang Shen, Bai Zhu, Huang Qi, Dang Gui, Chi Shi Zhi, Gan Jiang, Mu Xiang, Sha Ren, Bu Gu Zhi, Ge Gen, Fang Feng, Bai Shao, Yan Hu Suo, Er Cha, Ying Su Ke, and Gan Cao. These formulations are typically used for strengthening the spleen and tonifying the kidney, warming the middle and relieving pain, and astringing the intestines to stop diarrhea, addressing conditions like acute and chronic gastroenteritis, chronic colitis, ulcerative colitis, intestinal dysfunction, and various forms of diarrhea. All formulations are administered orally.
