Weiyang Yuping Fang (also known as Weiyang Yuping Decoction) is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbal formula developed by the Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It is primarily indicated for the prevention of acute attacks in patients with mild to moderate intermittent asthma. The formula is based on the TCM theory of "preventing disease from exacerbating" (治未病), which emphasizes intervention during the remission phase to strengthen the body's defenses and stabilize the condition. It is administered orally as a decoction and has been evaluated in Phase 2 clinical trials to determine optimal intermittent dosing schedules for long-term asthma management.
