Overview
Wellnitin ODT is an orally disintegrating tablet (ODT) formulation of sildenafil, developed by Standardpharm (Standard Chem. & Pharm. Co., Ltd.) for the treatment of erectile dysfunction. Sildenafil is a selective inhibitor of cGMP-specific 3',5'-cyclic phosphodiesterase (PDE5), an enzyme that degrades cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP) in the corpus cavernosum. By inhibiting PDE5, sildenafil enhances the nitric oxide-mediated cGMP pathway, leading to smooth muscle relaxation, increased blood flow, and penile erection upon sexual stimulation. The ODT formulation is designed to dissolve rapidly in the mouth without the need for water, offering a convenient and discreet administration option for patients.
