Welltron-MD

Welltron-MD is an oral mouth-dissolving tablet formulation of granisetron, a small molecule 5-HT3 receptor antagonist developed and manufactured by Acure Pharma. Granisetron works by selectively blocking serotonin (5-HT3) receptors located on the vagal nerve terminals in the gastrointestinal tract and in the chemoreceptor trigger zone of the central nervous system. This inhibition prevents the initiation of the vomiting reflex. The mouth-dissolving (orally disintegrating) formulation is specifically designed for convenience and ease of administration in patients suffering from nausea, as it dissolves on the tongue without the need for water. It is primarily indicated for the prevention and treatment of chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting (CINV) and postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV).
